Begin with the inspection findings
Ask the provider to document what was found and which areas need treatment. Record whether the proposal addresses an identified issue or preventive service. A price comparison cannot confirm the presence, extent or absence of termites.
Understand the proposed method
Have the contractor describe the treatment, access needs and included areas. Different methods or coverage plans are not interchangeable simply because both proposals use the word “termite.” Ask what preparation and follow-up are required.
Record ongoing obligations
- Initial treatment scope and price.
- Inspection and follow-up schedule.
- Renewal and monitoring fees.
- Retreatment or damage-related terms, with exclusions.
- Conditions for maintaining or transferring any service agreement.
Get a matching second estimate
Share the written scope with another qualified provider and ask them to identify any differences. Compare the initial and ongoing commitments separately. RipOffRadar can help organize the amounts but currently has no reviewed termite-pricing benchmark and does not assess a treatment’s suitability.
